More than 20 years of children's literacy, storytelling, and family engagement, now serving early-childhood centers in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and the greater Illinois region.
• Created by author Sydney L. Cain (Saba's Thoughts of the Day, Saba's Secret Garden)
• English and Spanish content for bilingual families
• Local presence through the Missouri History Museum
• Reviewed by Saint Louis University faculty for its focus on nurturing and attachment
• Five-week classroom pilot with early-childhood partners

Each sponsored Saba package includes the Saba’s Secret Garden book, a Saba plush doll, a backpack, and seeds for planting.
The Saba literacy experience brings the package to life through live storytelling and family engagement through reading, music, and interaction with Saba, plus a simple seed-planting activity that families can continue at home. Sponsors may also include approved informational or branded materials inside the backpacks.
Saba is not a one-time giveaway. It is a literacy and family-engagement experience designed to encourage reading, hands-on learning, and nurturing parent/caregiver connection beyond the event.
"The book is the doorway. Connection is the intervention."
Give 25 children the full Saba experience. Includes sponsor recognition, digital acknowledgement, a backpack insert opportunity, and an impact recap.
Reach 50 children and their families. Includes all Community Sponsor benefits, plus expanded recognition and a center photo opportunity when feasible.
Lead the campaign with 100 Saba experiences. Includes prominent campaign recognition, expanded visibility, and a post-campaign impact report.
Every $100 sponsors one child's Saba experience.

Founder's Purpose: I created Saba to use literacy as a doorway for strengthening connections between children, parents, caregivers, and the communities that support them.
